Who We Are
Northeast Neighborhood Coalition, INC (“NNC”) is a non-profit (501(c)(3) that was founded in 2025 and established in 2026 with a mission to empower residents and stakeholders to collaborate for a thriving, safe, and equitable Northeast Kansas City community by fostering civic engagement, addressing critical issues, and improving quality of life through advocacy and partnership.
Historic Northeast is made up of 9 neighborhoods
Paseo West, Columbus Park, Pendleton Heights, Scarritt Renaissance, Indian Mound, Sheffield, Lykins, Independence Plaza, and Forgotten Homes

With more than 50 languages spoken in the Northeast, the top languages are: Spanish, English, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Somali

Population
These eight neighborhoods serve roughly 40,000 total residents. Thats more people than Liberty, Leawood, or Gladstone!

As of 2026, there is currently $400 million dollars being spent on development projects.
